Your Days of War Server Hosting Control Panel

A Days of War server is run through its config files, its logs and the occasional restart. Our web panel keeps all three in one place, so a clan admin can change the rotation from a browser without remote access to anyone's PC.

The Gaming Deluxe control panel, shown with a Windrose server. Days of War servers use the same panel and menu.

File Manager and SFTP

Edit the server name, password and map list in the browser, or connect with SFTP to upload custom map files from your own machine.

Web Console and logs

Watch players connect, check which map loaded and read the log when something refuses to start.

One-click restarts

Load a new config before match night in seconds, then stop the server between seasons if you want to.

Scheduled Tasks

Restart the server automatically in the early hours so it starts every evening fresh.

Backup Manager

Keep a copy of the setup that worked and roll back in moments if an edit goes wrong.

State of the game

Days of War Server Hosting in 2026: Where the Game Stands

Days of War left Early Access on 30 January 2020, and Driven Arts' last Steam announcements date from February 2020. The Steam store page still describes the game, but it showed no option to buy it when we checked in October 2026. People who already own it can keep playing, and that makes a stable hosted server the meeting point for whoever is left.

01

A settled build

With no patches since early 2020, a server config that works today keeps working. Nothing changes under you before a match.

02

Owners only

With no buy button on Steam, new players need a copy they already own. Check that before you plan a big public server.

03

Custom maps still count

Patch 2.0.0.413 made custom maps award XP, so community maps feel like part of the game rather than a side mode.

04

Small, loyal player base

Driven Arts said themselves in 2020 that servers could be sparse. A known address and fixed match times help a community gather.

Maps and rules

Maps and Rules for Days of War Server Hosting

Days of War ships with an official map editor and Steam Workshop support, so the clearest way to give a server its own character is the map rotation. The rest comes from the rules you set and enforce.

Maps and content

Official map editor

Driven Arts released a map editor built on Unreal Engine 4.20.3, the same tools the studio used for its own maps.

Steam Workshop maps

Players share finished maps on the Workshop. Pick the ones your group likes and build a rotation around them.

XP on custom maps

Since patch 2.0.0.413, playing custom maps earns XP, so regulars still progress on a community rotation.

Server rules

Password and slots

Lock the server for clan practice or open it to the public, and size it to the crowd you expect.

Bots for practice

The game includes multiplayer bots, which suit warm-ups and testing a new map before people arrive.

Steam on Windows

Days of War is sold for Windows on Steam, and our servers host that PC version.

Memory per server

RAM for Days of War Server Hosting

Driven Arts never published memory figures for the dedicated server. A server only tracks players, bullets and objectives, with no graphics to draw, so our plans keep memory modest and add more as the player count rises.

  • Clan scrims and training

    Plan: 10 Slots
    RAM included: 5GB

When to add more: Not needed for official maps.

  • Regular small clan nights

    Plan: 16 Slots
    RAM included: 5GB

When to add more: Only if the log shows memory warnings.

  • Busy community server

    Plan: 24 Slots
    RAM included: 8GB

When to add more: Rarely; 8GB covers a full rotation.

  • Full 32-player battles

    Plan: 32 Slots
    RAM included: 8GB

When to add more: Consider 12GB for large custom maps.

The order form offers 5GB, 8GB, 12GB, 16GB, 20GB, 24GB and 32GB. You can change tier later from the client area without losing files.

Days of War Server Hosting Features

What a dedicated server gives a WW2 community that a match on someone's home PC does not.

Always there

The server stays up between match nights, so anyone can drop in for a few rounds.

No host advantage

Nobody plays on the server's own connection, so every rifleman gets the same ping chances.

Your map rotation

Mix official maps with Workshop favourites and run the rotation your players vote for.

Private clan nights

A password keeps training and matches for your own members.

5.0GHz processors

Fast cores keep hit registration steady when 32 players crowd one objective.

Attacks filtered

DDoS traffic is stopped before it reaches the server, so a match ends on the scoreboard.

Before the first round

Days of War Server Hosting Essentials

Five things worth settling before the first match on your new server.

  1. Count who owns the game

Steam showed no way to buy Days of War when we checked, so ask your group who still has it before choosing a size.

  2. Pick a map rotation

Decide which official and Workshop maps you will run, and test each custom map once before a match night.

  3. Write short server rules

Spawn camping, team balance and language rules are easier to enforce when they are written down.

  4. Set a password for practice

Use a password for clan training and remove it when you want public players to join.

  5. Fix a regular match time

With a small player base, a weekly time everyone knows fills a server faster than random evenings.

Answers

Days of War Server Hosting FAQ

Answers to the questions clans and community admins ask before they order.

Ordering and setup

How fast is my Days of War server ready?

Setup runs automatically once your payment clears, normally within 20 minutes, and the login details arrive by email.

Can new players still buy Days of War?

When we checked the Steam store page in October 2026 it showed no purchase option. Players who already own the game can still join your server.

How many players can join?

Steam lists Days of War with 32-player multiplayer, and the order form sells 10 to 32 slots, so the 32 slot plan covers the largest battle the game is designed for.

Which location should I choose?

The one with the lowest ping for most of your players. Run the ping test on this page from where they live. All 9 locations cost the same.

Maps and gameplay

Can I run custom maps?

Yes. Days of War has an official map editor and Steam Workshop support, and custom maps have awarded XP since patch 2.0.0.413. Ask our support team if you want help placing a map on the server.

Which game modes can I host?

Driven Arts named detonation and ground war maps on its 2020 roadmap. Which modes your server runs depends on the maps you put in the rotation.

Does the game have bots?

Yes. Steam lists multiplayer bots and a local practice mode, useful for warming up before a match.

Will a patch break my server?

Unlikely. The last patch notes on Steam are from February 2020, so the server and the players' copies stay on the same version.

Hardware

How much RAM do I need?

The 10 and 16 slot plans include 5GB and the 24 and 32 slot plans include 8GB. Add more only if you run very large custom maps and the log shows memory warnings.

Do I have to open ports on my router?

No. The server runs in our data centre with its ports already reachable, so nothing changes at home.

Billing

How much does Days of War server hosting cost?

Plans start at £5.00 a month for 10 slots. The plan table shows every size for 1, 3, 6 and 12 months, and longer terms cost less per month.

Can I change the slot count later?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade from the client area when your community grows or shrinks. Your files stay where they are.

Is there a contract?

No. Monthly billing can be cancelled at any time, and the longer terms are simply paid in advance at a lower rate.

Why Run Your Own Days of War Server

Days of War is Driven Arts' tribute to the team shooters of the early 2000s: close quarters fighting across Second World War fronts, six classes, an arsenal of 60 weapons and 12 maps at full release, set in Europe, Africa and on the Eastern front. The game left Early Access on 30 January 2020 with an overhaul of its graphics, recoil, movement and interface, and Steam lists dedicated servers among its features.

The studio was open about the hard part. A week after launch it wrote that player numbers were the big issue, and a few days later it warned that servers might be sparse. That has not changed in the years since, and when we checked the Steam store in October 2026 the page showed no way to buy the game. The people who still play are the ones who already own it, and they need a place to meet.

That is where a hosted server earns its keep. A clan or community with its own Days of War server has a fixed address, a known rotation and a regular time. Nobody has to keep a home PC on, the host does not get a ping advantage, and the server is still online at midnight when two players fancy a few rounds of rifles only.

Choosing the Right Number of Slots

Slots are the number of players who can be connected at the same time. Days of War is built for 32-player multiplayer, but very few communities fill that every night. Start from your real numbers: how many members turn up for a normal match, how many guests you would welcome, and whether you hold bigger events now and then.

Your groupSuggested planWhy

A small clan with weekly matches16 SlotsEight a side with room for a guest or two
A community server with regulars24 SlotsTwelve a side and 8GB RAM for custom maps
Public server or event nights32 SlotsThe game's full player count with 8GB RAM

Building a Rotation With Custom Maps

Custom maps are the strongest tool a Days of War admin has. Driven Arts released its map editor alongside the full game, based on Unreal Engine 4.20.3, and players share their work through the Steam Workshop. In February 2020 the studio thanked a long list of creators for the maps they had already published, and patch 2.0.0.413 made custom maps award XP, so playing them counts towards progression.

A good rotation mixes the official maps everyone knows, such as Bocage, Carentan and Chateau from the patch notes, with a few community maps that give your server a reason to exist. Keep the number of custom maps small at first. Every new map means players may need to download it, and a rotation that changes every week makes it harder for people to learn the lines of fire.

  • Test first: load each new map on an empty server before match night and walk the spawns.
  • Announce changes: post the rotation in your Discord a few days ahead so players can subscribe on the Workshop.
  • Keep a backup: save the working config in the Backup Manager before you add or remove maps.
  • Ask for help: if a map file will not load, our support team can look at the log with you.

Running Regular Match Nights

  1. Pick one or two fixed evenings and keep them for at least a month.
  2. Set the server name so it is easy to spot and share the address in your community channel.
  3. Use a password for clan-only nights and take it off for open nights.
  4. Schedule a restart a few hours before the match so the server starts clean.
  5. Balance the teams at the start, then let players swap only between rounds.
  6. Collect feedback on maps after each night and adjust the rotation.

With a game that has a small player base, routine matters more than features. A server that is busy every Thursday at eight will gather more regulars than one that is open all week but empty most of it. Bots are useful while people trickle in, and the practice mode lets newer players learn recoil before they face your veterans.

Rules and Admin on a Community Server

Most problems on WW2 servers are human ones: spawn camping, stacked teams, abuse in voice chat. Days of War includes voice chat, so decide early what is acceptable and who has the authority to act. Write three to five short rules, put them in the server name or message where the game allows, and post them in your community channel.

Give at least two trusted members admin access so a problem never waits for one person to come online. Keep a short log of kicks and bans in your Discord so decisions stay consistent. If you run a public server, review your rules once a month as the regular crowd changes.

Fixing Common Connection Problems

ProblemLikely causeWhat to do
Server missing from the browserStill starting, or filtered outWait a minute after a restart and clear the browser filters
Players stuck on loadingCustom map not downloadedAsk them to subscribe to the map on the Workshop first
High ping for one regionLocation far from themCheck the ping test and consider moving the server
Server will not startError in a config editRead the log in the panel or restore the last backup

Most issues show up in the log within seconds of a start, which is why the Web Console and log viewer sit in the panel menu. If you cannot see the cause, open a ticket and include the time it happened. Support is available around the clock.

Hosted Server or a PC at Home?

You can run the dedicated server on your own computer, but it then depends on your upload speed, your electricity and your willingness to leave the machine on. Every player connects to your home address, the host's own ping is near zero, and the server disappears the moment your PC restarts for an update.

A hosted Days of War server takes those problems away for the price of a few pints a month. It sits in a data centre with DDoS filtering, a fast CPU and NVMe storage, and the whole community reaches it on equal terms. For a game where every remaining player counts, that reliability is what keeps them coming back.

What to Compare Before You Rent a Days of War Server

For an older shooter with a small player base, the practical details matter more than headline specs.

  1. Config and file accessYou need the real config files and SFTP for map files, not just a web form with a few fields.
  2. Ping for your playersTest from where your clan lives, especially if members are spread across countries.
  3. Slot flexibilityCheck that you can change size month to month as the community grows or shrinks.
  4. Single-core speedA fast CPU core keeps hit registration steady on full servers.
  5. BackupsSaved configs let you undo a bad rotation change in seconds.
  6. No long contractLook for monthly billing, no setup fee and no minimum term.
