  • Adding Steam workshop Mods to your Ark server

To add steam workshop mods to your server there are two methods

    firstly

simply add "?GameModIds=modIDnumber, modIDnumber" having each mod ID separated by a comma via your commandline editor.

Connect to your server via an FTP client, we recommend using FileZilla.

Navigate to your own computer's ARK mods folder. This is located in SteamApps/common/ARK Survival Evolved/ShooterGame/Content/Mods.
You will see a folder and a .mod file for each ID. Upload both for each mod you'd like to use. You will want to create a "Mods" folder on your server in the same location ShooterGame/Content/Mods/modIDnumber

    secondly

upon request via support tickets we will install Ark remote for you to use in manage mod download/cfg only mode, then by simply connecting to your ark remote service ip:port using your ark server launcher in remote server mode, you will be able to install collections of mods directly to your server, and it will create the activemods=modIDnumber, modIDnumber in your gameusersettings.ini for you

you can download the serverlauncher here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/346110...9887219814834/
    or a direct link: https://steamcommunity.com/linkfilte...erLauncher.zip

So when I use this tool it tells me I need to contact support to get them to change the launch CommandLine for me? I thought that was the idea behind the tool. Quite confusing!

if youre using the arkremote at home for sure, but the server executable is managed by our systems and having two things trying to control it would be problematic to sya the least, thats why we made it only available for mod update/cfg access

your server will be more stable this way

all you need to do is edit your commandline manager via the game panel to what ark server launcher is asking to

No Offense but this is the worst explanation! Looks like it was done half A$$. Can someone please break this down to this timeline and actual file names and where everything goes exactly?
            Remote is not necessary?
            Ark Server launcher necessary?
What is point of Ark Server launcher if we are paying for GD? You can make your own, i have done it and it runs perfectly smooth with 8 friends on there.

Someone throw me a frickin bone here.

this way of doing things is deprecated now, all you need do is add the new string to your commandline -automanagemods that the devs created and then add -gamemodid= to your commandline with the workshop mods or activemods= to your user.ini and then every time you restart your game server it will auto attempt to install OR update those mods detected, check your web console for the status of your workshop downloads in the gamecp
